Why is the fourth track in track and field sprint called "golden track"?

In track and field events, four athletes draw lots to occupy runways 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively before the preliminaries, and the last four athletes draw lots to arrange runways 1, 2, 7 and 8.

In track and field, there are some differences between different passes. In order to overcome inertia, it is necessary to change posture to obtain a certain centripetal force, and the change of posture will affect the athletes' technical play to varying degrees. The centripetal force decreases with the increase of corners, so the attitude of athletes in the outer lane changes little, which is more conducive to play. The research shows that from the biomechanical point of view, the eighth lane is beneficial to the athletes' stable speed. However, in the minds of most athletes, the outer lane and the inner lane are both "slow lanes", and they all prefer the middle lane. In addition, in the straight running, passing the ball in the middle is more conducive to the athletes' perception of the speed of other opponents, and is more conducive to adjusting the rhythm, pace and speed, so as to better improve their performance. Therefore, the fourth and third roads are considered as golden runways.
