Anxi, located at the junction of Xiamen-Zhangquan Golden Triangle in the southeast of Fujian Province, is surrounded by mountains and seas, and has a unique geographical advantage. It is 55 kilometers away from Quanzhou, a famous historical and cultural city, and 85 kilometers away from Xiamen Special Economic Zone. It is one of the first coastal counties approved by 1985.

Anxi is known as the "Dragon and Phoenix Famous Area", and there are many places of interest in the territory. Zhu, a Neo-Confucianist in Song Dynasty, visited Anxi many times with the theme of "Eight Scenes of Qingxi".
