The second referee is responsible for receiving the players.

The work content of the second referee:

1. Prepare to solicit and listen to the request of the first referee at the meeting, and exchange opinions with the recorder and linesman for mutual understanding and cooperation.

2. Assist the first referee to check. Assist the first referee and recorder.

3. Assist the first referee to draw lots and urge the recorder to register.

4. Ask the coaches of both sides about the playing position in the first game, and hand it over to the recorder and the representative respectively after confirmation. When the national volleyball league adopts the home and away game system, the head coaches of the participating teams should fill in two identical position tables.

5. Go to the arbitration or technical representative office with the first referee to request the start of the game. Check the height of the net again with the first referee.

6. Distribute two match balls to the players, and check the positions of six players on both sides according to the position table. If there is any discrepancy, the position table shall prevail for correction. At the same time, contact the recorder. After everything is correct, give the ball to the server, raise your hand to show that everything is ready, and inform the first referee that the game can start.
