World women's basketball championship

World Women's Basketball Championship (FIBA World? Champion? The women's basketball match is an international basketball match sponsored by the International Basketball Federation. It started at 1953 and is now held every four years. The participating teams are the top three in the last World Championships and the top three in the last Olympic Games, with 1 team from the host country, Asia, Africa, Central America, South America, Europe and Oceania, and 1 team invited by the host country.

The way of competition is that the champion team of the last World Championships and the host country team directly enter the final stage, and the other teams are divided into three groups. The top two teams in each group entered the final stage to compete with the above two teams (1-8), and the third and fourth teams in the preliminaries ranked (9- 14).

A total of 16 teams participated in this World Championships, among which the host Czech team and the Beijing Olympic champion American team directly qualified. There are five tickets in Europe, and the top five teams in the 2009 European Championship, France, Russia, Spain, Belarus and Greece, have qualified for the Czech Republic.

There are three places in Asia, which belong to the top three teams in the 2009 Asian Championship, namely China, South Korea and Japan. There is only one place in Oceania, belonging to the champion Australia team. There are three places in America, which belong to Canada, Argentina and Brazil. Two places in Africa were won by Mali and Senegal.

Due to the uneven development level of the world women's basketball team, FIBA has no plans to expand the women's basketball world championship to 24 teams for the time being.
