The allocation of places in the Champions League depends on the ranking of major leagues in UEFA. This ranking is based on the results of European wars in the past five years. The leagues ranked first to third have four Champions League places, currently La Liga, Premier League and Bundesliga. The top three of the three major leagues directly participate in the Champions League group stage, and the fourth place can only be shortlisted through the Champions League qualifier play-offs.
