Is the postgraduate re-examination list arranged by grades?

The list of postgraduate re-examination is not necessarily arranged by grades.

Under normal circumstances, the postgraduate re-examination list is ranked according to the results. There are four mechanisms for re-examination of postgraduate entrance examination, namely, the difference system, the double-blind extraction system and the one-vote veto system. The difference system means that the enrollment unit will draw a list of students who enter the second interview according to a certain proportion, and the double-blind system means that qualified students are admitted according to the results of the second interview.

First, the difference system

The difference re-examination refers to that the enrollment unit draws the list of students who enter the re-examination according to a certain proportion, and enrolls qualified students according to the re-examination results. That is to say, for 120% students who enter the re-examination, the admissions unit will give them the same interview opportunity regardless of the ranking of the initial examination, and eventually 20% of the candidates will be eliminated because the re-examination is not up to standard, which is likely to include some candidates with excellent results in the initial examination.

Second, the double-blind system.

Double-blind system means that on the day of the second interview, candidates need to draw lots to decide which examination room to enter for an interview; Tutors who participate in the interview also need to draw lots on the spot to decide which examination room to participate in. Double-blind system is a policy to ensure the fairness and justice of the re-examination process and results.

Third, the extraction system

It is necessary to extract not only the people who take part in the second interview, but also the questions that candidates need to answer. The extraction system means that the admissions unit will specify a large number of interview questions in advance. After the candidates enter the examination room, the questions answered on the spot will be extracted from these prepared questions and answered on the spot. The sampling system, like the double-blind system, ensures that all students who take part in the second interview are treated equally.

Fourth, the one-vote veto system

In 2007, the national postgraduate enrollment increased the re-examination weight, and the re-examination results accounted for 30%-50% of the total scores. The education department stipulates that even if candidates get high marks in the initial examination of postgraduate entrance examination, they will be rejected by one vote if they do not meet the requirements in the re-examination organized by the enrollment unit.
