Legal basis: Article 20 of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Demolition Law determines the monetary compensation amount according to the location, use, building structure, old and new degree, construction area and other factors of the house to be expropriated, and according to the appraised price of the real estate market. The real estate market appraisal price of the expropriated house shall be determined by a real estate appraisal agency with corresponding qualifications in accordance with the real estate appraisal norms and relevant regulations, but it shall not be lower than the market transaction price of similar real estate on the effective date of the house expropriation decision. The real estate price appraisal institution shall be determined by the expropriated person by voting and drawing lots.
