Skydiving process

It mainly includes disembarkation, free fall, parachute opening, landing and landing. There are two ways to leave the plane: door jumping and ejection. Airborne soldiers usually jump from the door, pilots are forced to jump, and generally eject. Free fall is the movement of the parachutist from leaving the plane to before the parachute opens.

After leaving the plane, the parachutist moves horizontally and vertically along the flight direction under the action of flight inertia and gravity, and the trajectory is parabola. Opening means that the umbrella is opened under the action of air. The opening procedure is usually to open the umbrella bag and guide the umbrella to work. At the moment when the umbrella is unfolded, the movement speed of the paratroopers suddenly decreases, resulting in the impact force of opening the umbrella, which depends on the falling speed, the total weight of the paratroopers and the duration of opening the umbrella, and generally does not exceed 12 kn. After the parachute was opened, the parachutist landed smoothly and slowly.

The vertical landing speed is related to the total parachute weight, air density, canopy area and canopy resistance coefficient, which is generally about 5 meters per second, and there is also a certain horizontal movement speed. During the descent, the parachutist can control the parachute to change the direction and speed of horizontal movement, so as to land at a predetermined place.

In order to ensure the safety of skydiving, parachutists must be organized for ground training before skydiving, including skydiving theory learning and skydiving action training. Only after they are qualified can skydiving be carried out.
