On May 6th, 1987, several forest farms belonging to Xilin Gol League, Tuqiang, amuer and Tahe Forestry Bureaus in Daxinganling area of Heilongjiang Province caught fire at the same time, causing the most serious forest fire since the founding of New China, which shocked both at home and abroad. After 28 days and nights of hard work by more than 5.88 million troops, police and people, it was completely extinguished on June 2. People's lives and property and national forest resources suffered heavy losses, resulting in direct economic losses of more than 500 million yuan. The total fire area is 1.7 million square kilometers (including the overseas part), and the national forest affected area is 1.0 1.000 hectares, with more than 50,000 families 1.000 victims. More than 58,000 people from the People's Liberation Army, the Forest Police and the people participated in the fire fighting, which lasted for 28 days from/kloc-0 to May 6, 1987. On June 2, the fire was cleared, and all the open fire, residual fire and dark fire were extinguished.
