2. Timing of fishing
Freshwater barracuda also has certain foraging rules, and generally takes the initiative to eat from tomorrow to morning 10 or from 3: 30 pm to evening 10: 00. I suggest you seize these two key time points to go fishing, and you can have a proper rest at other time points.
3. Selection of equipment
Freshwater barracuda is in a state of ignorance at the moment it takes the bait, which is slow in common parlance. If the barracuda reacts, the impact in the water will be stronger, and the barracuda of the same size will struggle much harder than freshwater fish (such as carp).
Fishermen can take advantage of this weakness and use hard poles, thick lines and hooks to directly pull fish into protection. You can also choose to use soft rods, thin wires and small hooks to enjoy the fun of walking fish.
As long as the fish is eaten, it is dead, so the hook has little effect. After the fish is caught, as long as you hold your breath and slowly slide the fish, the thinner sub-line can completely cope. A friend of mine has never caught barracuda above 0.4 sub-line and about 2 kg, and he has gained a lot every time. Of course, this is based on solid fishing.
Generally speaking, it is recommended to use No.8 sub-line and No.6 Haixi hook to catch barracuda weighing about 2 kg (if you choose hard pole fishing, you can enlarge the line and hook).
4. Fishing skills
It is suggested to reduce the fishing height, that is, to catch a relatively small amount, such as adjusting one eye to catch two or three eyes. There is only one purpose to do this: it is convenient for barracuda to swallow bait. When the float rises slowly, it is the signal that the barracuda eats its mouth to death. At this time, you can catch fish by decisively lifting the pole.

There are many baits for catching freshwater barracuda, which can generally be dealt with by fishy bait. For example, Tianlan crucian carp, Siliu crucian carp, Almighty fishy, Carassius auratus and so on. It is worth noting that in order to further improve the palatability of the bait, it is suggested to make the bait ball softer, such as widening the bait or rubbing it soft and sticky.
If the fishing platform uses a short rod to fish, you can lure the fish into the nest by increasing the frequency of throwing the rod. If you use a long pole, you can put a nest material in advance. The nest material can be coarse fishy particles, squid loose cannon and the like.
