First, land selection.
Salvia miltiorrhiza should be planted in sunny terrain, convenient drainage and deep, fertile and loose soil, which is more conducive to root elongation and development. If the soil is sticky and low-lying, it is easy to accumulate water, so this planting place is not conducive to the growth of Salvia miltiorrhiza.
Second, soil preparation
It is a deep-rooted perennial plant. Before planting, sufficient base fertilizer should be applied, such as 5000 kg of decomposed farmyard manure, 50 kg of calcium superphosphate or 20 kg of diammonium phosphate per mu. And turn it 30-40 cm deep, which is conducive to its rooting.
After soil preparation, the boundary should be well prepared, with a flat boundary 1.5-2m in the north and a high boundary 15-20cm in the south. Drainage holes should be dug around the planting area to avoid water accumulation.
Third, cutting
Choose robust and disease-free branches, each with a length of about 13- 16cm, and the lower end incision should be close to the stem node, and the incision is horseshoe-shaped. Remove the lower blade, insert the branches obliquely into the soil according to the row spacing of 20× 10cm, and the cutting depth is branches 1/2-2/3, then cover the soil and compact. Keep the soil moist and shade well, and new roots will grow in 15-20 days.
Fourth, divide the roots
When harvesting in autumn, choose the root with full growth and no disease and the diameter of 0.7- 1cm as the seed root, and then leave the wet sand until the next spring. In March-April, cut the seed root into small pieces, 4-6cm long, and then insert the seed root vertically into the ground with the big head up. Cover the soil 2cm after planting, not too thick, so as not to affect the normal emergence.
Verb (abbreviation for verb) management
After the seedlings turn green, loosen the soil frequently, keep the land moist after transplanting and before seedling extension, and do a good job of drainage in rainy season to avoid root rot. Before closing the ridge in rainy season, intertillage and topdressing should be combined, and urea and compound fertilizer can be applied, or 20kg diammonium phosphate can be applied per mu, and appropriate amount of water can be applied after topdressing.
