I. Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Incident
1in the summer of 945, Japan was defeated, but Japan's crazy resistance in Okinawa and other places led to a large number of allied officers and soldiers casualties. At that time, the U.S. military had formulated the "Crown" and "Olympic" action plans for landing in Kyushu and Hiroshima, kanto region. In order to protect the lives of allied officers and soldiers, Japan was forced to surrender as soon as possible to contain the Soviet Union. US President Truman and senior military personnel decided to drop atomic bombs on Japan to speed up the war.
The US military chose Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Kokura, Niigata and other cities in Japan as alternative targets for dropping atomic bombs. Earlier, the United States, Britain and the Republic of China issued the Potsdam Proclamation, urging Japan to surrender. On July 28th, the Japanese government refused to accept the Potsdam Proclamation.
1945 On August 6 and 9, the US military dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, causing a large number of civilian and military casualties. On August 15, Japanese Emperor Hirohito issued an imperial edict announcing Japan's unconditional surrender.
Second, Nagasaki atomic bomb incident
Nagasaki is the capital of Nagasaki Prefecture, located at the western end of Kyushu Island, Japan, with an area of 406.4 square kilometers. 1945 the second world war is drawing to a close. German fascists surrendered unconditionally on May 8th. On July 26th, the United States, Britain and China issued the Potsdam Proclamation, urging Japan to surrender unconditionally and quickly, but the Japanese government ignored it. On August 9, the US military dispatched B-29 bombers to drop the atomic bomb code-named "Fat Man" in Nagasaki, Japan. About 60% of buildings in Nagasaki were destroyed, with 86,000 casualties, accounting for about 37% of the city's total population.
1August 945 15, Japan announced its unconditional surrender, and signed the surrender letter on September 2. The Second World War ended here. The United States bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki with atomic bombs, which also caused the Japanese people to suffer serious disasters caused by the war of aggression launched by militarists. The Japanese people became victims of the war, but also experienced the endless legacy brought by the atomic bomb.
Extended data
Atomic bomb is a kind of nuclear weapon, which uses photothermal radiation, shock wave and induced radioactivity of nuclear reaction to cause killing and destruction, as well as large-scale radioactive pollution, and prevents the other side from taking military action to achieve strategic goals. It mainly includes fission weapons (first generation nuclear weapons, usually called atomic bombs) and fusion weapons (also called hydrogen bombs, which are divided into two levels and three levels). Some also put light elements with induced radiation into weapons to increase radiation intensity, expand pollution, or strengthen neutron radiation to kill people (such as neutron bombs).
Nuclear weapon refers to a weapon that uses the energy released by self-sustaining nuclear fission or fusion reaction to produce explosion and has a large-scale killing effect. Among them, fission weapons are mainly made by using the fission chain reaction principle of heavy nuclei such as uranium 235 (U) or plutonium 239 (Pu), and are usually called atomic bombs. Thermonuclear weapons or fusion weapons are mainly made by using the thermonuclear reaction principle of light nuclei such as heavy hydrogen (H, deuterium) or overweight hydrogen (H, tritium), and are usually called hydrogen bombs.
19641June16th, China's first atomic bomb exploded successfully. According to the declassified data, China spent a total of 2.8 billion RMB for the explosion of this atomic bomb. 1June 1967 17, China successfully conducted its first hydrogen bomb test, which broke the superpower's nuclear monopoly and blackmail policy and made great contributions to People's Republic of China (PRC) (PRC).
