Different kinds of lentils have different shapes and tastes, and their cooking methods are different. Ordinary lentils are green and cyan. Green lentils are slightly flat with thick skin, slender and thick pods.
In addition to green and blue lentils, there are varieties of red lentils and white lentils. The red flat pods are full, brightly colored and have purple stripes. White lentils are oblate with a pale white surface.
Lentils are native to India, mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical regions, and are planted in both northern and southern regions of China. Wild lentils mostly grow on the roadside, in front of houses, in ditches and other places.
