What is the sowing method of tall fescue grass seeds?

There are two ways to plant seeds of Festuca arundinacea, one is direct sowing and the other is asexual planting. However, no matter which planting method, we must be prepared. Before planting tall fescue lawn, the soil must be strictly analyzed. For example, what is the texture of the soil? Is the water content of the soil good? Can the soil remain fertile? All these need to be fully investigated and carefully planned in advance.

There are three methods of direct seeding of seeds, namely hand seeding, seedling thinning and digging seeding. For hand seeding, shallow ditches of several centimeters, about 2 to 4 centimeters, should be dug on the surface of fertile land in advance.

Then use loose rare earth to smooth the bottom of the ditch. In order to make the seeds of Festuca arundinacea sow evenly, the seeds of Festuca arundinacea can be weighed in advance. Mix the fine soil with the seeds of Festuca arundinacea, and then sprinkle them into the shallow ditch of the soil bag by hand.

Sowing between rows is also carried out on the surface of soil bags. The spacing of each ditch is about 10 to 30 cm, and the direction of the ditch is horizontal. Try not to open longitudinal ditches. The spacing of ditches can be determined according to the area of local soil bags.

The width of the ditch should be wide, which can exceed six centimeters, but it is best not to exceed eight centimeters. The depth of this ditch is 2 to 4 cm. The spacing between seeds is very small, and every centimeter needs to be sown. The soil covered after sowing is thin, which is beneficial to the aerobic respiration of seeds.

This method of digging holes and sowing seeds is relatively traditional, and its technology is difficult to master. Generally speaking, the position and depth of holes need to be strictly controlled. So this method is rarely used now. After sowing, the thickness of soil cover is also very different, which is easy to be too different, which will lead to uneven seedlings.

Now there are new regulations for digging and sowing, and the spacing between each ditch is 20 to 25 cm. Compared with the latter two methods, this method has a larger spacing. The distance between adjacent holes is 8 to 12 cm, and the hole depth is 1.5 cm. It needs to be planed out with precision instruments, and each hole should be seeded with 5 seeds.

There are also many ways to grow asexually. However, asexual propagation is only suitable for a few plants, and tall fescue is a plant that covers the ground and is not suitable for planting in this way. Festuca arundinacea is now suitable for the lawn of sports ground, and it is also full of romance on wedding occasions.
