Why did Song Taizu's death happen without warning, but it was confusing afterwards?

Why is the process and cause of Zhao Kuangyin's death so confusing? The key lies in the successors behind.

In the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhao Kuangyin's yellow robe was added to the shame of Song Qinzong Jingkang, and he experienced nine emperors. Except for Hui and Qin, who were taken to the north by the nomads from the Golden Army and died in a foreign country, the others were all Tai, Zhen, Ren, Ying, Shen and Zhe. In the history of Song Dynasty, they? Before he died? Not ready? According to records, except Mao, the history books did not mention what disease he got before he died, but he died suddenly in October of the ninth year of Kaibao, at the age of 50. Chen Qiao mutiny and yellow robe? A bonzi tied, and all 400 military States were surnamed Zhao? Master of the base, why did you die in such a hurry? The history of the Song Dynasty? Is the record of "unprepared" an accidental phenomenon? Because things were fishy, many people had some rumors and speculations about it at that time. Song Renzong's Wen Ying has this record in "Hunan Shan Ye Ji":

Once a stranger told Mao that if it was sunny on the evening of October 20, 2009, his life could be extended by one year. If not, you should prepare for the funeral. That night, Mao was watching the weather by the Taiqing Lake in the palace. After a while, he saw the stars all over the sky, and he was happy, but he didn't prevent the fog from rising and the snow and hail from plummeting in the blink of an eye! Then hurriedly summoned the royal brother Zhao Guangyi into the palace. The left and right attendants were screened out again, and they drank wine. Those retired eunuchs saw the candlelight from a distance, and Guangyi often got up and avoided his seat, which made him feel embarrassed. By the time they had drunk enough, it was already midnight. At this time, Mao Ling took Gui's axe to poke the snow and said to Guangyi, What about the future? So do it well? I went to bed and soon heard snoring like thunder. When the luminous righteousness also stays in the palace. About five o'clock, the palace was silent, and Mao had already died. Guangyi received a testamentary edict and acceded to the throne for Song Taizong in front of Mao's coffin.

It can be seen from this passage that Mao's sudden death is predestined and bad luck is inevitable. This superstition is of course nonsense.

In the Yuan Dynasty, Xu Dalong gave another description of Song Taizu's death:

Mrs. Hua Rui Fei was favored in Taizu Palace. On one occasion, Emperor Taizong could not afford to be ill. In the middle of the night, Taizong called him and never heard his answer. Emperor Taizong thought that Emperor Taizong was seriously ill and fell asleep, so he took the opportunity to tease Fei. When Mao woke up, he found that he was so angry that he alarmed the queen and the prince. Mao hurried back to the palace. At this point, Mao was dying and died that night.

According to Xu Dazhao, Mao was ill first and then died of anger. What's the story? Lyu3 bu4 plays The Story Of Diu Sim? Taste. However, Xu Dalong lived in a far cry from the early Song Dynasty. The reliability of the rumors he recorded from the Song Dynasty to the Yuan Dynasty can be imagined.

Sima Guang also recorded this in Su Shui Ji. Although Sima Guang did not describe the process of Taizong's death in detail, we can see some flaws between the lines, at least we can conclude that Taizong's death is closely related to Taizong. Sima Guang wrote:

At four o'clock at night, Taizu had just died, and Queen Zhang Xiao immediately let the chamberlain know that Wang Jilong called Taizu's second son Fang to the palace, intending to let Fang succeed to the throne. Ji Long knew that Mao wanted to pass it on to his younger brother, so he didn't call. After leaving the palace, I went straight to Kaifeng to call Guangyi. I met Jia Dexuan, a medical officer, outside the Jin Palace. Jia said that he always heard knocking at the door the night before, shouting? Zhao? He was afraid that King Jin was ill, so he went to wait outside the mansion. So they knocked at the door together, saw Guangyi and explained their purpose. Guangyi was surprised, hesitated for a moment, said he wanted to discuss with his family, and went to the back room to see it for a long time. Jilong and others were anxious and urged: Things have dragged on for too long, afraid that the throne will be taken away by others! ? Guangyi finally made up his mind that the three of them went out of the house together and entered the palace through the snow. The dragon wanted to go in first, so he let Guangyi wait outside the temple. Dexuan said:? You should go straight in and don't wait for anything! ? The three of them entered the temple together. When the queen saw that Wang Jin Guangyi was called by name, she was shocked. Yes, Guangyi said. Our mother and son depend on the government for their lives. ? Guangyi cried and said,? Enjoy the wealth together, don't worry. ?

Sima Guang edited "Learning from the Same Resources as a Mirror", and his seriousness in compiling history is almost well known. However, after all, he stood in the dominant position of Taizong's descendants, as if everything he recorded was related to Taizong. For respectable people? For example, this passage is suspected to have been written in a secret way. First of all, Mao died suddenly, and even before he had time to consider and arrange the funeral, he died with his eyes closed. His death is suspicious! Secondly, why did Jia Dexuan wait at Jinmenkou in the middle of the night? Is it really as he explained himself? Besides, an ordinary medical officer is nothing. Shu Xun? , but dare to hide, breaking the official ban at night, what is the reason? Besides here? Extraordinary times? Without careful arrangements, will Zhao Guangyi enter the palace through the snow in the middle of the night without any entourage? If he shows no sign of taking the throne. How could the queen be shocked at the sight of him and call him immediately? Official? ; Before Taizong officially succeeded to the throne, he admitted and begged him to save his mother and son?

It seems that Sima Guang actually recorded some scenes after Mao's death, but for some reason, he didn't make the background clear, so he left these doubts. If these doubts are comprehensively analyzed, Zhao Guangyi should have played a certain role in Mao's sudden death. It is hard to say that this is not an escalation of the Chen Qiao mutiny. Although Wen Ying and Xu Dazhao's descriptions are not sufficient, they both mentioned the relationship with Taizong.

In addition, let's take a look at what Emperor Taizong did to his younger brother and nephew after he succeeded to the throne: one sentence forced him to kill Taizu's prince Dezhao; Conspiracy with Zhao Pu to kill the emperor's younger brother Mei Ting one after another, linking these events, isn't Zhao Guangyi's role in Zhao Kuangyin's death obvious?

"Song history. The Book of Filial Piety once recorded that after the death of Prince Gaozong, the queen had a strange dream at night. Dreaming about what? There is no direct statement in the book, but when she told the emperor this dream, the emperor suddenly realized something, and he immediately proposed that Mao's descendants should inherit his throne. Did the courtiers? Mao lost his position and his descendants scattered, which led to the disaster of Jin people today. Should he take power for Mao's descendants now? Discuss. From this point of view, the dream of Emperor Gaozong is likely to be the appearance of the emperor. This kind of dream is absurd, but the psychological basis of dreaming and dream interpretation can not be ignored. If Emperor Taizong had not done anything unnatural, I am afraid that after 100 years, these descendants of Emperor Taizong would not have suffered such heavy psychological pressure, and even regarded the disaster of the Golden Man as retribution for the descendants of Emperor Taizong.

Although it is certain that Mao did not die of natural causes, there is no record of him in the history of the Song Dynasty? Not ready? The record was not accidentally lost, but Zhao Kuangyin? The real situation and cause and effect of "death" is still a mystery. Perhaps the great shadow of history has completely submerged the truth, and no one can get to the bottom of it.
