Hinayana Buddhism and Mahayana Buddhism;
Mahayana Buddhism is self-cultivation and Mahayana Buddhism is self-cultivation. Buddha measures people by introspection, and only introspection can measure people. Introspection is actually a classic of Buddhism. You can't judge yourself, how can you judge others? So to measure yourself, let's talk about Hinayana Buddhism first. In Hinayana Buddhism, the word "no self" is very particular. Don't think that if you are a great bodhisattva, you will have me and there will be no me. In fact, as long as you study Buddhism now, there must be no ego, which is very important.
The word "no self" is very important in Buddhism. Just now, Master said that "no self" is the foundation of learning Buddhism, and those who want to become bodhisattvas must have no self. Hinayana Buddhism will not cultivate any ego, whether it is Hinayana Buddhism or Mahayana Buddhism, in fact, it is four words in human Buddhism: self-education. In fact, as long as you study Buddhism now, you must have no self, which is very important.
Hinayana Buddhism has three dharma seals: impermanence, dharma without self, and nirvana without sound. In fact, this three-dharma seal is a three-legged foundation and also the foundation of a Buddhist. Among them, the Buddha said that all dharmas have no self, which means we call the world dharma realm. In this dharma circle, everything you do, everything you do and everything you think must be completely without me, which is called all laws without me. Impermanence refers to all our actions, and everything we do on earth is impermanent. We just wanted to do one thing and suddenly changed our minds. Impermanence I just wanted to do something, but I stopped doing it after being said a word. Think about it, are all your actions impermanent? Yesterday I said what I should do, and today I am just like that, impermanent, for that simple reason. In the three dharma seals spoken by Bodhisattva, every sentence points out the philosophy of life. Master asked you, which thing you are doing now can last forever? Many of you girls are fat, saying that from today on, I will exercise every day to lose weight and become slim. As a result, I exercised for a week and fell asleep when I couldn't get up in bed in the morning. This is because people have no toughness and perseverance, which is impermanence. Why did you get divorced? When we got married, they all said "I want to be with you forever". Forever? There is no eternity, and this is impermanence.
Nirvana is silent. Don't think that the word "nirvana" is the end. Nirvana means enlightenment in Sanskrit. Nirvana enlightened people, his heart immediately calmed down, he immediately thought of nothing, he immediately knew everything, he fully understood everything in the world: Oh, so this is the world. It turns out that this world is neither born nor dead. I came to earth with nothing. What can I take away when I leave? No, it is empty. You can't even take your body parts. Only your career is with you. Can your feelings be taken away? Can you take away the person who loves you all your life? I can't take it with me. Impermanence, nothing belongs to you. So understand that as long as you are enlightened, everything will calm down. When a man is dying, he is enlightened: so this is going to end? Can't you take anything with you? Suddenly it was silent, so it was called Nirvana Silence. Everything quieted down, died, disappeared, and finally slowly breathed a sigh of relief. I couldn't hear the crying on the side, so I closed my eyes and left. Don't think that death is far away from us. After sleeping, I couldn't wake up, so I was silent. But it doesn't have to be nirvana. Only a noble and fully enlightened monk will attain nirvana.
Master pulled back and said, "All the Buddhist teachings mentioned by the Buddha are without me, or the word" without me ". What is the key point of "no self"? In fact, it is about the law, not everything in the world. Everything in the legal world, even if exaggerated, is a law. If you can live on the earth, see everything clearly and feel that there is no "I" in everything, then you are a bodhisattva. How can you be jealous? How can you be greedy? Those things are not yours, you know they can't be kept.
Buddha said that all laws have no self-nature. In other words, there is nothing in the world that you bring from your nature. You saw this beautiful house today. It's not something that your nature brings. This is just one thing in the legal world. Today, I love a person very much, and he brings you joy, which is only one thing in the legal world. So it has no self-nature, and it has nothing you can get from the truth to save your soul on earth and let you know the truth. This is something with self-nature. Master asked you, you have so much money, can you take it with you? Does money have its own nature? Is the ego brought by nature? Nature brings your conscience, and nature brings your feelings and sincere things. Therefore, if everything in the world is impermanent, there is no self-nature.
Buddha said that everything originated from nature, the source of nature. The child was born with a clear conscience. He cried when he saw his mother bleeding. It's natural. Later, when I grew up, I became a doctor and operated on patients every day. I saw too much blood and felt dirty. He has no conscience at all. So what does Master mean when he tells you that everything is beyond me? You have to understand that all the thoughts brought to you by this world are not brought out by your own nature, but are already on this earth. So, what you don't bring from yourself, don't take it away. Now master asks you, what can you take away in the coffin? Can I take the money with me when I die? Can only be divided as an inheritance. The clothes were burned, even the ashes. Bones, hair and eyes are not yours, because they are not from nature. You can't take them back. Then only things from nature can you take away. What is that? It is your conscience. But many people's conscience has been eaten by dogs, and their nature can't be found. Then go to hell and be an animal. Master asked you to cultivate Buddha's nature and Bodhisattva's nature, which is to enhance your realm. Because only this thinking soul belongs to nature and can be taken away. Do you understand? Everything comes from nature.
Master told you that we have no self-nature, that is, things that don't come from nature, so don't take it seriously. Give a simple example, such as your views, practices and ideas about the world. These things are no longer your nature because you will see, think and do these things when you arrive on earth. Therefore, when a sad thing happens, when an annoying thing happens, it is actually because you have passed through these troubles in the world and fed back to yourself that you have this feeling. It's not your nature. You don't need to miss it at all, and you don't need to think about it because it can't be taken away. When we were young, we were bullied by others. Very sad. Is that sadness still there? Don't say you took it, just say you didn't bring it to your age. You can't take unnatural things. You should have a good experience.
Now you know that everything in the world can't be taken away, and many things are an idea body that is fed back to you through things and thinking in the legal world, and the idea has a body. At this time, you must understand that without me, what is not yours is called no me, and bodhicitta is from no me. Listen carefully to master's speech! Bodhicitta is the heart of a bodhisattva. Where does this man's conscience begin? Why does this man have a conscience? Because he has no self, he must help others. He won't argue with others, and he won't fight with others, because he has no self. How can a mother argue with her children? Because mom doesn't have herself in her heart, only her children, understand? So Buddhists must have no self. As for the word "no self", Master can tell you three months.
Without me, there would be no war in this world. What is the war for? Why not peace? Because everyone has a self. This is mine and that is mine. You are not good to me, and I am not good to you. I, I, I ... had a fight. If everyone doesn't have me, my husband is thinking of his wife, and her wife is thinking of her husband. How can you argue? There is no self, only others. Buddhists should extend the word "no self".
