The breeding of Mengshan Mountain first began in the Buddha's time. The former Ananda venerable was used to the forest, but when they met in the middle of the night, they were hungry and low-paying, which was extremely embarrassing. Tell Ananda: in three days, your life will eventually fall into our class, but there are ways to save it. If you can give the six gods through diet and provide us with three treasures, you can increase your fortune and prolong your life. The next morning, Ananda told the Buddha about it, so the Buddha read the Dalagni mantra and said diet therapy. At the same time, the Buddha taught Ananda to recite the mantra of changing food, which made the diet from less to more, from seven to seven, and even boundless. He also taught Ananda to recite the manna mantra, and water became manna. Let several groups of souls in the Ganges receive food and drink with six clean roots, that is, to get rid of all hardships and be super-virtuous. So Ananda extended his life span to 120 years old. This is the beginning of giving when the Buddha was alive.
During the Song Dynasty, the immortal master (or Ganlu master) lived in Mengshan, Sichuan Province. It is a kind of water feeding method that combines the classics of the crater to save the hungry ghost and the secret department. It is mainly composed of two spells and written by the secret departments. It is called Mengshan Food Feeding Instrument.
There are two casting methods of Mengshan in modern temples, namely Damengshan and Mengxiaoshan. The mage carries out the ceremony according to the foot ceremony, which is called enlarging Mengshan. When Dameng Mountain was released, Buddha statues were placed on the altar, water and food were prepared, and the platform of the lonely soul was set opposite, which was the "place of six spirits in the Ten Dharma Boundaries". I respectfully invite the virtuous monk to be the main altar. With the blessing of the Three Treasures, the chanting of sutras and incantations, the spiritual Dharma is directly revealed, so that the spirits of the group can get three conversions, worship Buddha, smell the Dharma and eat, and get rid of it together. The temple Dojo also feeds Puji's ghost with the ritual of chanting "Mengshan Interpreting Instrument" every night, which is called "Let Xiaomengshan", and Mengshan has thus become an important part of the evening class of the Han Buddhism temple.
