Is it illegal to kill a white-striped snake?

It is not illegal to kill the white-striped snake. White-striped golden snake is one of the three protected animals in China and can be raised. It is not illegal to kill it to protect yourself.

White-striped snake has been included in the List of Terrestrial Wild Animals under National Key Protection or with Important Economic and Scientific Research Value issued by China State Forestry Administration on August, 2000 1. It has been listed in the Red List of Biodiversity in China-Vertebrate Volume, and the assessment level is low risk (LC).
