Yuwangcheng Yuncheng Yuwangcheng

Yuwangcheng Site is located in Wang Yu Village, Xinzhuang Village and Guoli Village, Wang Yu Township, Xia County, Shanxi Province, about 3 kilometers northwest of Sima Guang Tomb, a national key cultural relics protection unit. Because it is said that Yu Xia once lived here, it is commonly known as Yu Wangcheng. According to research, Wang Yu was Anyi, the capital of Wei during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, and it was also the seat of Hedong County during the Qin, Han and Jin Dynasties.

In the south of Yuwangcheng site, Zhongtiao Mountain, Qinglong River, Tianyan River, Baisha River and Yaoxian Canal flow through the southeast, and Mingtiao is located in the northwest, with high terrain in the north and low terrain in the south. A detailed survey was conducted in the late 1950s. Since 1990s, it has been investigated, drilled and excavated many times, and its era, nature and connotation have been further understood. Yuwangcheng site is divided into four parts: big city, middle city, small town and Yuwangmiao. The town is in the center of the big city, Wang Yu Temple is in the southeast corner of the town, and Midtown is in the southwest of the big city.

Big cities are trapezoidal, with a total area of 13 square kilometers. The walls on all sides are made of rammed boards. The north wall and the west wall are well preserved, leaving a total of 2 meters, with a maximum of 5 meters. The south wall and the east wall are poorly preserved, and there is no trace in the south section of the east wall. Except the north wall, the other walls are not straight. The length of the east wall is 1530m, and the length of the west wall is about 4980m, which fluctuates with the terrain. It is the most curved of the four city walls. The south wall is 3565m long, the north wall is 2 100m long, and there is a moat outside. Big cities have not been excavated, and the cultural accumulation is generally about 2 meters thick. There are ash pits and ash beds in the north of the city during the Warring States period. A handicraft workshop in the middle and late Warring States period was found in the north of Miaoxinzhuang, which is east of the city center. Cultural relics include pottery sculptures of hoes, hoes, axes, flat-headed pottery sculptures, pottery pots, pots and ironware. According to textual research in kind and literature, the big city was Anyi, the capital of Wei during the Warring States Period. The midtown is square with a total area of 6 square kilometers. Its west wall and south wall are part of the west wall and south wall of the big city respectively. The north wall is1522m long and1-5m high, and the east wall is 960m long. The city is rich in relics, and the accumulation layer is about 2 meters thick. There are relics from the Warring States period, but mainly from the Han Dynasty.

Archaeological excavations in recent years are mainly carried out on both sides of the Guliangyun River and the north and south sides of Sanmenxia Highway. The relics found include ash pits, pottery kilns, wells, roads and semi-underground working faces. Unearthed things are particularly rich, including pottery pots, pots, tiles, tiles, bricks, money, iron slag, blast pipe fragments, slag and various pottery models and molds. There are half tiles and round tiles, and round tiles are divided into moire and the words "Changle Weiyang" and "Long live the Millennium". There is a square brick on the brick that says "all the ministers of the country are rich and familiar, and the people are not hungry". Most of the pottery sculptures are relics of the Western Han Dynasty, including ritual pottery, five-baht pottery and four-and-a-half-baht pottery. From the analysis of unearthed cultural relics, Midtown was later than Dacheng, and it should be under the jurisdiction of Hedong County in Qin and Han Dynasties. The town has a total area of 75.4 square meters, and its shape is a rectangle without the southeast corner. The west wall and the north wall are 930 and 855 meters long respectively, and the existing city wall is between 1-4 meters. The town is higher than the surrounding ground, the terrain is high in the west and low in the east, and the accumulation layer is about 3 meters thick. /kloc-a trial excavation was carried out in the autumn of 0/990, and the unearthed relics include large pots, pots, retort, small pots, bowls and other containers; Shovel model, brush model, trolley model, hexagonal model, circular model, pattern model, etc. Printed with the words "Dongsan"; Tiles are divided into board tiles and pipe tiles, mostly moire round tiles, in addition to five baht, half pence, iron slag and so on. The town has been used for the longest time, built in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty and used until the Northern Wei Dynasty. Wang Yu Temple, also known as Yuwangtai and Qingtai, is a modern building located on a square rammed earth platform in the southwest corner of the town. Destroyed in the war of the Republic of China. According to local legend, Qingtai was built in the summer, and it is a place that Tu Youyou's husband yearns for and a place to play.
